Salem Joins NFIP Community Rating System
SALEM, Ore. -- City of Salem residents are about to pay less for flood insurance, as a direct result of their community's active participation in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Community Rating System (CRS). According to FEMA Regional Administrator Susan Reinertson, they'll not enjoy reduced flood insurance premiums, but face reduced flood risk as well.

Fire Season Is Here Are Floods Around The Corner?
SALEM, Ore. -- Fire season is in full swing and firefighters have already engaged thousands of fires across the western states. With thunderstorms complicating forecasts calling for continued warm weather, FEMA Assistant Administrator for the U.S. Fire Administration Gregory B. Disaster Assistance Benefits Can Help Renters Recover from Disaster Losses
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraskans who rent instead of own their own home may not realize they can apply for a range of disaster recovery benefits. A renter who lives in one of the federally-declared counties and had losses because of the May 22-June 24 severe storms, tornadoes and flooding may be eligible for help with certain expenses, according to the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
