Public Assistance Briefings Set For Local Officials BLOOMINGTON, Minn. State disaster officials will hold applicant briefings to help representatives from state and local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations in six Minnesota counties apply for federal disaster assistance in the wake of the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding that occurred on June 17-26.

President Declares Major Disaster For South Dakota WASHINGTON The U.S. Department of Homeland Securitys Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced that federal disaster aid has been made available for South Dakota and ordered federal aid to supplement state, tribal and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding during the period of June 16-24, 2010.
