Salaries for Data Center Jobs Stay Flat
A recent survey conducted by the IT-focused consulting firm Janco Associates finds the volume of seasoned IT professionals seeking employment to be the culprit in IT salary raises being minimal at best. Datamation reports.
IT salary levels clearly face challenges created by the economic downturn. Unfortunately, IT salary raises have been minimal or none at all. According to Janco Associates, an IT-focused consulting firm that conducts annual IT salary surveys, "there is now a surplus of seasoned IT professionals" -- hence, the ceiling on IT salary increases.
Other key findings from Janco relating to 2010 IT salaries:
- Layoffs have focused on middle management and IT support staff.
- Many mid-sized enterprises have stopped hiring all IT professionals altogether.
- IT hiring is limited to a few selected positions as enterprise continue to cut costs.
